I made a post about this previously but sadly I'm still stuck. I have been requested to do the following task:
I need to analyze the average time loss to overall project timeframes for the following time periods (to be displayed as a % independent from one another):
- January 2023 - Dec 2023
- January 2024 – Dec 2024
- January 2025 onwards
Time loss should calculate the average amount lost between the ‘start date’ to 'move forward date’ fields in comparison to overall project timeframes. I need to calculate ‘start date’ to ‘notify date’ in comparison to overall project timeframes as well. I have no idea how to do this or where I even start. Each "date" table listed above has over 100 dates. Let me share one example of that below:
But when I put it into a table, it looks like this:
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi @xmunchedx ,
It is recommended to disable Auto date/time in the options.

How to get your questions answered quickly -- How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum
@xmunchedx Well, that is because you are displaying the date hiearchy and not the actual date. You can modify that in the field well by clicking the dropdown arrow for the field.
Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882
Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490
The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
