Bookmark support

Hi,

I’m facing an issue with bookmarks in Power BI.

Scenario:

  • I have a Year slicer in my report.

  • I have two bookmark buttons:

    1. Monthwise View → Shows a graph of Cost and Revenue by Month.

    2. Yearwise View → Shows a graph of Cost and Revenue by Year.

  • When I click these buttons, the graph switches between Monthwise and Yearwise view as intended.

Problem:
When I created the bookmarks, I had to select a Year from the slicer.
Now, whenever I click either bookmark, it resets the slicer back to that default year instead of keeping the year I’ve currently selected.

What I’ve tried:

  • In the Bookmark settings, I deselected “Data”.

  • Despite this, the slicer selection still resets to the default year used when creating the bookmark.

Question:
How can I set up my bookmarks so that they change only the visual layout (Monthwise ↔ Yearwise) without altering the slicer selection?

Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hi @rithika99

I can't replicate your issue. You can see in the screenshot below that deselecting data from the options changes the display only. Please ensure that in both bookmarks, data is deselected. Alternatively, and if you only need to switch between dimensions, look into using field parameters on column instead - it is easier to maintain and implement.
