Blanks appearing in visuals

Hi, I would like to check why there are blanks that appear randomly in our visuals. I have already made the necessary checks to my underlying data to ensure there are no blanks and that they are all correct, but sometimes, my visuals will have blanks appearing after restarting Power BI (although a quick fix if you use bookmarks is to just click on the bookmarked page in the bookmark pane).

I know how to remove the blanks through the use of the filters, but I just would like to know if there are any specific reasons for it happening or is it just a bug?

Hi @AUYS93,

Is there any relationships you created to other tables and with unmatched records?

If this is a case, when you use 'many' side table columns with 'one' side columns at same time, power bi will display 'blank' to summarize and replace unmatched records.

Slicer showing Blank as a value when data does not have any blank values

Regards.

I am facing the same issue wherein I have some unmatched IDs from the DIM table i.e. DIM table has more IDs than the fact table. But even if I am seeing the blanks from the DIM tables, I expect to see no value attached to it in my visual. But powerbi somehow gives me certain summarized values which I do not know how to get rid of.

Hi, I'm having a similar issue but I expect the blanks for one field where there is no match. The issue is it is taking an amount field I have, which shows values prior to me adding the new field, and makes those blanks as well. So I have an ID and amount field and all have values. I add a new field from another table that has one match. Now I only get information in the amount field where there is that match. Any idea why this happens?

Hi Xiaoxin Sheng,

Oh yes, my data does have some unmatched records. Thank you for clarifying.
