Best way to enter and capture textual commentary

Hi All,

Relatively new to the world of Power BI. My org has just started taking steps towards using the platoform for our reporting needs.

We have a report to track our expenditure under cost centres and compare them to budgets when the period closes. Standard budget vs actual stuff.

Cost centre managers are then expected to review the result and provide commentary explaining the varainces.

Question is....is there a way for this commentary to be captured in power BI?

I'm open to any suggestions...could well be outside of power BI

Cheers

@Anonymous there are few ways you can do that. you can use after market visual called narrative. Or you can create your own measure and create your own commentry.

Hi @Anonymous,

Take a look at http://www.prc.com.au/visual-planner/

This products allow full commentary enter into the front end of Power BI just like you would in Excel and performs full write-back to the underlying dataset so that your history is captured.

Regards

Scott
