Based on file name slicer selection , parse the data
Hi All,
I have a validation task to parse data and condtional format the data which doesnt match.
The data is about comparing the ECU software version present in the vehcile to the target version which is suppose to be.
Product software data - Which is a database table which has current ECU software version present in vehicle
Target Excel Files - Quartely will recieve a file and this will have the expected software version to be present in the vehcile and as of now have 2 files(2024 Q4,2025 Q1).
so based on the ECU key we can create the realtionship between the tables.
The requirment is need to compare the data between the tables based the selection of Target Excel Files from slicer.
Example - If user chooses 2024 Q4 or 2025 Q1 Target file from slicer then the parsing to happen between Vechile software data and 2024 Q4 or If user chooses 2025 Q1 Target file from slicer then the parsing to happen between Vechile software data and 2025 Q1
I need help on how with the help of slicer we can switch the Target data that to be compared with Product software data.
Below attached the source table info.

Hi PraveenAK,
Please follow below steps and let me know if this helps?
- Import Product Software Data and Target Excel Files (2024 Q4, 2025 Q1). Append target files into one table with a "Quarter" column.
- Create Relationships: Product Software Data[ECU_Name] → Product Software Data[ECU_Name], Use a slicer on "Quarter" to switch target data dynamically.
- Mismatch Measure (for conditional formatting):
Mismatch_Flag =
IF(SELECTEDVALUE('Target Software Data'[SW_PartNumber])
<> SELECTEDVALUE('Product Software Data'[SW_PartNumber]), 1, 0)- Apply Conditional Formatting: Highlight mismatched SW versions in visuals.
Thanks,
Prashanth
