Azure maps filling wrong State/Provice

Hi,

i have some administrative regions that I'm trying to plot as Fills on Azure Map.
These are "[COUNTRY], [REGION]" e.g. "EASTERN REGION, SRI LANKA", data category is set to "STATE/PROVINCE.
I'm noticing an issue with Sri Lanka, it's plotting it's Eastern Region onto SAUDI ARABIA
When i change data category to UNCATEGORIZED, it's plotting it correctly.
Swapping the text around "[REGION], [COUNTRY]" doesn't help, I've tried.

I don't want to split it to two fields [COUNTRY] and [REGION] and adding them to the Location field wells because for some places e.g. United Kingdom, it's island states like Guernsey, etc plots when using the concatenated text "[COUNTRY], [REGION]", but not as seperate fields [COUNTRY] and [REGION].
Using latitude and longitude is out of the question as well, many of the admin divisions in Taiwan get messed up when adding latlon.

In other words I've determined "[Country], [Region]" to work best for me. So I'd prefer to stick with that if possible.

any help appreciated.

  • There's no such thing as "Region" in geocoding.  You need to provide pointers for as many of these categories as possible:
