Azure Machine Learning integration in Power BI ... Desktop?

Hi,

I am excited about using the Azure Machine Learning integration in Power BI. However, I wish Power BI Desktop had the same thing. Because I have a .pbix dataset file that I don't think can easily be replaced by "dataflows." However, I am interested in adding machine learning to it.

I read on this community thread about some possible ways to do it. But it would be better if Power BI Desktop had the same integration. Any chance it will?

And/or, has anyone had any success doing this...

  1. Create a trained machine learning model (using any tool)
  2. Have a Power BI dataset in the Power BI Service with some data that is regularly refreshed
  3. Each time the data is refreshed in the Power BI Service, the data is scored using the trained model; and the predicted values are stored as a regular column in the Power BI dataset?

...and if so, how? (Where do you create the ML model, and how do you integrate it with Power BI Desktop?)
