Automatic Page Refresh
After doing some research I could not find a definitive answer!
Does APR work with local CSV files as the data source.
I saw it worked with direct quieries but I do not entirely understand what that means.
I have enabled APR in the options and restarted PBI Desktop but it does not show in the formating tab for the page!?
Any help would be appreciated!

Considerations and limitations
There are a few things to keep in mind when using automatic page refresh, in Power BI Desktop or in the Power BI service.
- Import, LiveConnect and Push storage modes are not supported for automatic page refresh.
- Composite models that have at least one DirectQuery data source are supported.
- Power BI Desktop has no restriction for refresh interval which can be as frequent as every second. When reports are published to the Power BI service, certain restrictions do apply, as described earlier in this document.

Change detection for page refresh (preview)
This month we are introducing a new option for automatic page refresh, so that your page refresh is based on change detection rather than a specific refresh interval. For frequent refresh scenarios, it can be very inefficient to continuously send all queries to the source, especially if the data has not even changed. For example, if you are monitoring tweets, these might come into your model very often or between longer periods of time. If you query the data source in a constant, frequent interval, it may result in unnecessary queries and expensive resource usage. A better approach is to have a lightweight query that runs in the background to check if data has changed and only refresh your entire report page if a change has been detected. Therefore, with this release, we are providing a new Change detection option to specify how we should query for changes to your Direct Query source, specifically which measure we should evaluate and how frequently we should check for changes to that measure.

For this preview version, you must enable the automatic page refresh feature in Power BI Desktop. Go to File > Options and settings then select Options, and select Preview features from the left pane. Enable the feature by selecting the checkbox beside Automatic page refresh. Automatic page refresh is available only for DirectQuery data sources.

Hi,
I have enabled this in Power BI desktop but the option does not show up in the formatting panel to set the refresh time.
This is why I am asking the question: Does APR not work for CSV files stored locally on my machine?
