ArcGIS map bubble size: Auto adjust max size based on slicer settings

I'm currently setting up a visualization of where our employees are working at any given time. Currently I'm using a model with temporary made up data containing the following info:

Employee | ClientAddress | StartDate

I've added the address as the main field and total of employee as the size field. Then I've added the startdate as a slicer to the report page. This works very well. The bubbles are initially correctly sized and the slicer adjusts the data in the map according to the date range specified. However, I do run into one issue:

The total data is quite large (10000 entries), so the initial sizing for the classification of the bubble size is also quite large. When I then slice a smaller time period, the min and max range are not automatically set to logical min and max values. So when I look at only one month for example, all bubbles are approximately the same size because I'm looking at 7 entries per city, while it is still scaled to a maximum value of 1000 for example

For the full data set it works quite well.

For smaller data it falls apart, since the Max of the range isn't automatically adjusted.

Is there a way to auto adjust this max value?

Hi @LucEvertzen,
Thanks for the follow up you're right that needing to manually reset the size range each time isn't ideal, especially for published reports.

Since this appears to be a limitation in the current ArcGIS for Power BI visual, I’d suggest raising this scenario in the ArcGIS for Power BI Community or the broader Esri Community forums. The product teams often review feedback there, and other users might have found workarounds or requested similar features:

Hi @LucEvertzen,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Forum Community.

This happens because ArcGIS Pro sets the bubble size range based on the full dataset and doesn’t automatically rescale it after filtering. First consider using ArcGIS Dashboards for a more interactive setup. Create a dashboard, add your map, and use a date range selector for StartDate to filter data, which can help with visualization clarity.

After applying the slicer in ArcGIS Pro, manually adjust the bubble size range in the Symbology settings by checking the new maximum employee count in the filtered data and setting a smaller max size to better reflect the range.

Ensure your employee count field is numeric, not text, as a mismatch can cause sizing issues.

Thank you.

The whole point was to rescale automatically. I don't want to have to manually reset the size range after I've used the date slicer to filter data. That is also not a viable solution for the published report.
