Applying RLS in a paginated report (Report builder)

Hi Community,

I have a report published to Power BI Service with RLS applied, based on this report's dataset I created a paginated report to visualize couple columns, but I did not find answers for couple questions:

  1. I added columns (fact table) to the table visual and added a parameter (dimention table) which I try to use in order to filter the dataset but It looks that relations between tables are broken in report builder
  2. I did not find a way to apply RLS
  3. Any resources for paginated reports with graphs

Thank you in advance.

Hi @DataVitalizer ,

1、When you connect to Power BI dataset from PowerBI Desktop/report builder, the connection mode is set as live connection which means you can't do any modification on the data model(e.g.: table relationship) so you can't see the relationship.

2、Please refer to the following document about applying RLS in paginated report to see if it helps you.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/embedded/paginated-reports-row-level-security

3、Please refer to the following document about paginated reports with graphs .

Hi @amitchandak

Thank you for the suggestion.

My paginated report should visualize data from Table 1.

I thought of using the UserID function but in my scneario I have data from different Datasets.

I have created two datasets (ds1=Table1, ds2=Table2) <= Hoping this step is correct.

The paginated report should visualize Revenue per Employee ID (Columns of Table 1) for Table1.Employee ID listed in Table2.Employee ID where Table2.Manager Email equals UserID

Thank you in advance.
