## Apply loss rates to distinct (unique) items. Calculate number of losses by animal age categories

Dear Friends,

I'm making a simulation model for a milk farm for 3 years. Need to to forecast gross quantity of animals by age groups and apply loss percentage. This is to see net number of the animals.

The model is for 3 years. The questions is how to apply loss percentage to the distinct row of animals? May be mdel needs to select some of them based on predermined index or something else.

Also, I can send a model, since it can't be attached here.

Animal groups:

Loss rates

81-200 0.0% 0.0% 0.0%

Hi @DaurenA

What is your logic for calculating the loss rates, based on the data you provided and the screenshots, I don't really know what the end result is that you want.

Best Regards!

Loss rates are in percentages and these are hard values based on judgement.

Using these percentages enables to calculate quantity of animal losses.

The issue is different context - loss rates are given for age groups, while main table (animal quantities) are unique items, one animal is one item.

I was able to apply and calculate losses on age gropus. Just want to make it better and apply losses to distinct animal.

That sounds quite complex, since the model should select exact row based on loss rate or quantity.

May be first step is to just identify quantity of losses, then randomply select from distinct rows such from quantity from 1st step.
