Applied Steps

I uploaded an excel doc to bi, I programmed applied steps.

I want to use BI applied steps to clean the data as the master program produces the raw data.

Now I want to replace the original table with new raw data and run the applied steps so I have an updated, clean file from my raw data.... HELP.

How did you upload the Excel file?

The normal way is to use "Get Data" and import the data from your Excel file, so if the contents of the Excel file change, you only need to refresh your queries.

Open the Advanced Editor of the imported query in Query Editor of Power BI Desktop, you can find that the path of Excel file. And when you change data in the Excel file, you can click "Refresh Preview" to get updated data.

thanks, let me go back to find where I pulled the original file from, then I cna save over that file with the updated and it should be good to go.  Nice when the office is quiet and you can try and figure these new toys out.  So glad someone else is at their desk as well!
