Anyone else getting an error when loading GCP Big Query table that has PK/FK constraints?

For some strangest reason - this column is read as struct with all the columns and PBI import fails.

Hi @Vaivaivai ,

This issue arises because Power BI does not fully support importing complex or nested columns, such as structs, from sources like BigQuery. When a column contains multiple fields, Power BI may not recognize it correctly, resulting in an import failure.

  1. Simplify the data at the source by flattening it before importing it into Power BI. This ensures Power BI handles only flat, standard columns.
  2. If you are already working in Power BI, use Power Query to expand or transform the complex column into separate fields.
  3. Adjust the data privacy settings in Power BI. Setting the privacy level to "Ignore" can sometimes help manage nested values more effectively.
