Dear,
I've been struggling for a while with Power BI desktop. It worked really well for a good while, but lately I get this annoying problem that I find nowhere on the internet.
After modeling my tables in Power Query, I go over to PBI desktop and do my relations. There, still everything is fine, as you can see on the following picture
After finishing up how I want the relations to be, I go over to my visualisation pane, and the first thing that's striking me is the Σ sign is nowhere to be found anymore
The moment I want the field in a values chart in any type of chart. It just doesn't take it.
What am I doing wrong? the field is absolutely a number
I tried resetting Power BI, Uninstalling and Reinstalling. Still doesn't work
With regards,
Y

Hi @Yahya ,
I try to reproduce the issue with a new file, but I find that only the columns with the corresponding currency symbol of the current file's region can be changed to "Fixed decimal number" (Currency.Type) type. And it is needed to change the currency symbol to the corresponding ones manually after applying the changes in Power BI Data View. But it can be summarized with no issue.
At the same time, other currency columns with be text by default. If they are forced to convert to currency type, , an error will be returned.
How do you change the two columns with "£" and "€" currency symbol both to "Fixed decimal number" (Currency.Type) type?
Best Regards,
Icey

@Yahya it is strange, the data type of these columns is number in PQ? I'm sure you checked it but just want to confirm it again.

Again, nothing special...
The numbers are even aligned on the right and slightly italic to show it's a number
It's not the first time, and I HAVE to get around it with a measure and it's tiresome even for simple calcs.
when I create a simple SUM([field that doesnt sum]), it works
here, I show that I try to grab the Billed Qty x Value, but it automatically went to Axis. Which is the last thing I want....
@Yahya do you have a calculation groups in your model?

I don't.
I just retrieved data from an SQL Source and arranged it in Power Query. Didn't do anything fancy yet.
