Anonymise/hide certain data in a visual table based on user selection

Hi

Long time reader, first time poster.

I have a visual table on a dashboard that has confidential information on it. The dashboard is used internally where that data should be visible and presented externally on Teams calls etc. where in some scenarios it should be hidden. I have 4 pages and 2 of those have a table with confidential information.

I had a few ideas of how I could achieve this but can't find a way to implement it:

  • Create a duplicate visual table with a blank column where the confidential information is and lay this table on top of the original. Based on a button click or slicer Yes/No, the table will be sent to back/front or made 100% transparent to show the desired table.
  • Remove the confidential column(s) completely from the table visual based on a button click or slicer Yes/|No.

Are either of these possible or is there another solution for this? I'm aware I could create new pages and link to them after a 'anonymise' button click, but feel like theres still a real danger of the user clicking back to the original pages.

Thanks so much in advance.

@vanessafvg Hi Vanessa yes that's correct, the user needs the ability to show/hide the column with confidential information, if that is possible. Thank you for your time.

have you looked into object level security?

sorry silly solution offered, but i had to read it a few times.

so its only when they on a call that they want to switch off certain values?

its not user based?

@vanessafvg I'm afraid that doesn't seem like it will work.

Basically when the user is presenting the dashboard there will be times where they discuss the client's own information by selecting that on a slicer, but other times when they want to see the whole portfolio information, in which case we'd need to anonymise the other clients names in the tables. Thanks for your resposne.
