Analyze in Excel - Build rights
Hi all,
I need your help.
I’m trying to use a Power BI model in Excel. Normally this works fine, but in this case the option is greyed out and I can’t use it anymore.
It seems that Build permissions are required, but end users are not allowed to have these rights because the IT department wants to prevent any modification to the semantic model.
Is it possible to grant users permission to use a Power BI semantic model in Excel without giving them rights that would allow them to modify the semantic model?
Thanks all for your strong support
Analyze in Excel requires Build permission, but Build permission does NOT allow users to modify the semantic model. There is no supported way to use Analyze in Excel without Build.
Build permission by itself should't aloow users the make changes in model but it allows them to build new reports, new composite models, etc..
