Amend a Published Dataset?

Hi,

 

I have a published App which consists of a dataset and 3 reports connected to the one dataset.

If I wanted to amend the dataset - i.e. add an additional measure - is it possible to do this and re-publish from desktop whilst retaining the lineage with the already-published reports?

What is best practice for this scenario?

    aJamie , I think so. I think you have to publish the app again if needed.

     

    Publish data report will let you know how many reports will get impacted

    Hi  aJamie ,

     

    Power BI Desktop is to create a collection of queries, data connections, models, and reports, and measures cannot be created in Power BI Service.

    So the most convenient way is to modify it in Power BI Desktop, and then publish it to the same workspace as before by replacing the existing dataset with your modified dataset (using the same dataset name).
