Ambiguous relationship loop

Hi,

I did read a lot of community messages, but I didn't find the solution for my (newbie) problem yet. My Datamodel isn't working, but I cannot think of another solution.

I want to use account and salesmanager as filters in my report. PowerBI is of course erroring with a ambiguous relationship, but how should I solve this in Power BI. As said, I've read a lot of messages, but I can't choose the solution. In the future I want to add Opportunities and all related activities like Calls and so on, but I tried (visit)Reports first.

Thanks for helping out.

@Anonymous relationship should be

Sales Manager -> Report (1:many)

Account -> Report (1:Many)

Not sure why you need relationship between sales manager and account table.

I want to show a table, filtered on SalesManager, with records from Accounts.

And a Sales Manager can have a Report with an account where he or she isn't the responsible salesmanager.

@Anonymous so your relationship will be

Sales Manager -> Account (1:many)

Account -> Report (1:Many)

No relaltionship between Sales Manager and Report table

Would appreciate Kudos 🙂 if my solution helped.

Thanks for your quick replies!

The possibility is, that the sales manager switches now and then. So when you make the links like you proposed, you can have the situation that a report is shown, where the SalesManager isn't the person who owned the Report.
