Alternative to load multiples files excel

Hi guys,

I have an import to power bi, the folder that contains multiples excel files, in this folder has 294 files, 390 MB the total size. I need to only remove all columns and group by file name and category <> XPTO ( Count the rows by file ), but this is very slow, I'm using Combine & Edit, there is another way to import all files faster?

Loading data from Excel files is generally slower than loading files in other format (e.g. csv or txt).

Probably the group by that you are doing is even slower considering the amount of data you load.

One good technique it to use Table.Buffer or List.Buffer to load data in memory and then carry on with other calculations / aggregations

You can refer the video in  A cleaner, better and faster way to bulk import files in Power BI: Csv.Document and Excel.Workbook. Curbal has shared some methods to faster import multiple csv or excel files, It may help you solve your problem.
