Allow users to provide feedback on data reported

Hi there,

I'm new..ish to Power BI and have been looking for a way to do this but couldn't find anywhere, so I thought I'd ask to the community.

I work in Audit and have been using Power BI to report on some audit findings.  In fact we have some audit tests that run continuously and the business users can review the results to address any potential exception.  A simple example would be a test for potential duplicated payments made by AP, where the AP staff will look at the Power BI report and click on the transactions to then further investigate.  The review outcome could be, for example, a confirmed duplication which AP then seeks refund, or a false-positive.  This review needs to be at the transaction / record level.

Now, here's what I'd like to have in my report: a way for the AP staff to enter the outcome of their review, so I could add an additional visual to show the actions taken by the business and what the outcome was.  This would be useful to me as I could check whether the potential exceptions are been investigated properly.

I know of other tools (audit specific) that have this functionality, but they obviously lack in many other areas where Power BI excels, so I'm trying to see whether there's a way to implement this.  The only way I could think so far was to have the results on an Excel spreadsheet which I'd provide to the business for them to enter their review outcomes and then link Power BI, but if I could do all from within Power BI only that would be ideal.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @lmfk8,

For your use case of collecting feedback on audit findings directly within Power BI, I highly recommend trying the Power BI User Feedback Pro custom visual. It can help you collect real-time feedback and track the outcomes of reviews without needing to rely on external tools like Excel.

Here’s how Power BI User Feedback Pro can address your needs:

  1. Real-Time Feedback Collection: Users (like the AP staff) can submit their review outcomes directly in Power BI. For example, they can provide feedback on whether a transaction is a confirmed duplication or a false positive.

  2. Seamless Integration: The feedback, including ratings and comments, is automatically logged and can be analyzed using Azure Application Insights. This means you can easily track whether the audit findings are being properly reviewed and addressed by the business.

  3. Customizable Feedback Forms: You can configure the visual to allow users to enter detailed feedback, such as selecting a specific outcome (e.g., "Confirmed Duplication," "False Positive") and adding additional comments or notes.

  4. Efficiency: This eliminates the need for external spreadsheets or tools, as the feedback is collected directly within the Power BI report, providing a centralized and streamlined process.

By integrating this visual into your Power BI report, you can enhance your audit process and ensure better tracking and management of the review outcomes.

Hi @lmfk8,

AFAIK, power bi not support submit feedback to dataset.

For your requirement, I'd like to suggest you create sheet to records Audit result, then you can add this sheet to original pbix file and create a report to analyze these data.
