After decimal point the data is shifting to next column in PowerBI when using the Custom connector.

we're using Custom connector to connect with PowerBI Desktop app. If the any column is having the data from source side like 16.66999999998 and If load the same data into PowerBI app, the data after decimal point(i.e 66999999998) is shifting to the next column.

Is there any way to restrict the data after decimal point also should come in same column instead of the next column before loading to PowerBI app. Because once the data is loaded in to two different coulmns we don't have any co

ntrol over there. Please find the attached SS from sorce side and in PowerBI desktop app.

Hi @Sai_Immadi ,

Try setting the region to US in your system.

Hi @Sai_Immadi ,

Thanks for the reply from amitchandak , please allow me to provide another insight:

Some regions use ‘.’ as the decimal point and ‘,’ as the thousands separator, and vice versa in some regions. Therefore, I think the translation process may have converted the decimal point to ‘,’ and so it is recognised as two separate columns.

So please check your custom connector to avoid this.

If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Clara Gong

Hi Calra Gong,

Thanks for your replay. Below is congiguration in the Regional settings page. I've tried with both the options under DAX Seperator but still the issue is persist. Can you suggest what need to change in this page.

For another user they don't have DAX Seperator section it self in Regional settings page and for them issue is not occuring. The data after decimal point is staying in same column.

@Sai_Immadi , Need to check the steps where data is expanded. Then we can correct it.

Can you share how data looks like in each step
