Advanced Filtering

Hello. I have line chart and a month slicer. I want my line chart to only show 4-months prior to the month selected on the month slicer.

How do I set the filtering on the line chart so that it follow accordingly to the month selected on the month slicer, and show data for only 4-months prior? Thank you.

Hi,

I am not sure how your datamodel looks like, but I tried to create a sample pbix file like below.

Please check the below picture and the attached pbix file.

One of ways to achieve this is to create a disconnected table for the slicer.

I hope the below can provide some ideas on how to create a solution for your datamodel.

Qty total measure: =
VAR _selectedmonthend =
    MAX ( 'Slicer table'[Year-Month sort] )
VAR _fourmonthsperiod =
    EOMONTH ( _selectedmonthend, -4 ) + 1
VAR _calendarfilter =
    FILTER (
        ALL ( 'Calendar' ),
        'Calendar'[Date] >= _fourmonthsperiod
            && 'Calendar'[Date] <= _selectedmonthend
    )
RETURN
    CALCULATE ( SUM ( Sales[Qty] ), KEEPFILTERS ( _calendarfilter ) )
