Hi,
I'm currently making use of Power BI in the early stages of my organisations system transformation.
I have Power BI directed at the new 'live' (or raw) databases of the new system, rather than a datawarehouse due to there being no ETL existing just yet.
I have created my report, got the gate way set up but I'm having issues adding my report to the gateway as the report is directed at multiple data sources - one source is directed at the databse (as mentioned above) the other sources are Excel based info added to the report.
As far as I'm aware any reporting added to the gateway needs to be from one data source only - correct?
Now, my developers have told me I can't add any data to the live database. Does anybody in the forum know how I can add data manually in Power BI?
I have a small number of ranking tables created in Power BI which the gateway likes, so my thoughts were to add the data in manually - however I'm restricted to 1,000 rows.
Any ideas how I can add the data source in a way that is freindly to the gateway without adding to the raw data source?
Many thanks, I hope I've exmplained myself well enough for you to understand!
Martyn.

If you connect "live", Direct Query, you cannot added additional data sources to your model.
