Lately when I try saving changes to my github repo for my Power Bi Project file I get the below error. Anyone experience this? I cant see any issues that would cause this. Has worked fine for months with no issues.
Hi, @Em1993 ,

Try saving the file in a different location then overwrite what's in github after.
Hi @Em1993 -
Pause OneDrive Sync Temporarily:
Right-click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar.
Select "Pause syncing" for 2 hours (or a suitable duration).
Save the Power BI report file (.pbix) to the GitHub folder manually.
Resume syncing in OneDrive after saving.
Save Locally First:
Instead of saving directly to the GitHub folder, save the .pbix file to a local location outside OneDrive.
Then manually copy the saved file back into the GitHub repository folder.
Check File Permissions:
Ensure your user account has full read/write permissions to the OneDrive folder and subfolders.
Right-click the OneDrive folder → Properties → Security tab → Edit permissions.
Disable OneDrive File-On-Demand:
OneDrive's "Files On-Demand" feature sometimes delays file availability, causing save errors.
To disable it:
Open OneDrive settings.
Go to the Sync and Backup section.
Uncheck "Save space and download files as you use them."
Close Conflicting Processes:
Ensure no other applications (e.g., Git clients, other Power BI sessions, or file viewers) are accessing or locking the .pbix file.
Use Task Manager to close unnecessary processes.
Power BI Permissions:
If Power BI lacks permissions for OneDrive, open it as an administrator:
Right-click Power BI Desktop → Run as Administrator.
GitHub and OneDrive Sync Conflict:
Avoid syncing the GitHub folder directly with OneDrive. Instead, store the .pbix file locally and push it to GitHub using a version control tool (like GitHub Desktop).
