A preview of this table isn't available - relationships?

Hi - normally have no problem with relationships- existing dashboard all ok. Added a new table and now when I look at relationships. I get "A preview of this table isn't available"

Refreshed via desktop, both in Transform Data and on Visuals screen but still showing no data on relationships, and even though I know fields match, no data shows on the reports when I use the tables in visuals.

Deleted new table and still shows as "A preview of this table isn't available" on existing relationships

Any ideas please?

Thanks!

@RedWineGirl ,

This seems to be a strange issue that you face even after deleting the third table. But one thing I am kind of sure here is 'This is due to issue that is happening when you are trying to read the data from the new table'.

You can also check if there are any issues in the data stored in the table. A Good point to start would be import column by column into Power BI for that table. My guess is if that is a data issue, the column with the issue when imported should bring you to this error. Remove that column and the table should load fine.

Hi @RedWineGirl ,

Pls has your problem been solved? If so, accept the reply as a solution. This will make it easier for the future people to find the answer quickly.
If not, please provide a more detailed description, preferably some virtual sample data, and the expected results.

Thank you -  I did have the same message in the manage relationship window. There were two existing tables Tabke 1 and Table 2 in the report, then brought in the new table, table 3, went to manage relationships and saw the error. Checked the existing relationships (the one that worked between T1 and T2, before I pulled in the new table T3) and it also showed the error. Even after deleting T3

Pulled in both existing tables (as new tables) and it finds the relationship, but I don't want to rebuild the whole dashboard...

I'd saved a copy of my original dashboard - and that also shows the error, does that mean some dodgy data in there? It refreshes ok without errors, just can't see the relationship.

Thanks again

Thanks - I'll try next week - strange as no errors on import and the relationship works - just can't see it!

Thanks again

Hi @RedWineGirl ,

As far as I know, this usually occurs as an issue when the table is not loaded properly / if there is any issue with accessing the table content in Power BI Desktop.

You should be seeing the same message in the manage relationships window also if you check.

Try pulling the contents of the new table separately in a visual and see if the data is visible.
