@bhelou , Use filter

Population =
VAR
Population = CALCULATE(SUM(ESTIMATES[Pop Total Estimates]))
Return
CALCULATE([Pop Total Estimates running total in Year],filter('Capitals Unique', 'Capitals Unique'[Country] = SELECTEDVALUE('Capitals Unique'[Country])))

If these tables are joined, no need to add this clause

for more than one value

Population =
VAR
Population = CALCULATE(SUM(ESTIMATES[Pop Total Estimates]))
Return
CALCULATE([Pop Total Estimates running total in Year],filter('Capitals Unique', 'Capitals Unique'[Country] in  allselected('Capitals Unique'[Country])))
