Fabric Dataflow Gen2 - How to Stop it

Hello,

In Fabric Dataflow Gen2, I mistakenly clicked Publish and could not get the Dataflow to stop.  Where is the option to stop a Dataflow from running?

Thank you!

Hi @southgrad10 ,

There isn't a REST API to cancel a Dataflow Gen2 today. We will be adding API support in the future for Dataflow Gen2, but today we do not have a REST API for Dataflow Gen2.
Note: We only have REST API to cancel a dataflow gen1.

Using non-supported methods could potentially set your Dataflow Gen2 into an undesired state.

Please wait for sometime so it stops automatically.
Incase if it is running for hours please do reach out to the support team for further help so they can investigate your scenario: https://support.fabric.microsoft.com/support

Hi @southgrad10 ,

FYI: We have an update from internal team -
" Cancellation is coming soon - it's been tested and rolling out in the March release. "

Good to know!  Thank you!

Hi ,

My last information about this is that there is currently no way of cancelling it in the UI:

"I just got the information from a Microsoft Employee that they are working on a "Cancel Execution" feature for Dataflows. So I think it will be there in one of the next releases..."

But Sandeep has a solution for you cancelling it via REST API:

Cancelling Dataflow Gen2 Refresh (fabric.guru)

Let me know if this solves your issue 🙂

Try doing a force refresh of the page. It could be an issue of the UI not refreshing automatically and thus not showing the correct state of affairs.
