Hi @rizky-prepass ,

This usually happens when the Warehouse was deleted, but the name is still “reserved” in the backend for a short period. Even though it’s not visible in the UI anymore, the system still thinks it exists.

A couple of things you can try:

  • Wait a bit (sometimes up to 24 hours) and try again—Fabric might still be cleaning up the old metadata.
  • Try creating the Warehouse with a slightly different name for now, just to move forward.
  • If the name is critical and you need it back ASAP, you might want to raise a support ticket so they can clear it manually from the backend.

Hope this helps!

Hi @rizky-prepass ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

Common Issues When Recreating a Warehouse in Fabric:

  1. Name Conflict (Soft Delete):
    • Even if a warehouse is deleted, it might still exist in a "soft-deleted" state for a period of time.
    • Microsoft Fabric (especially if it's tied to a Power BI workspace or Synapse environment) may not allow recreating resources with the same name until fully purged.
  1. Resource Lock / Pending Deletion:
    • Sometimes Fabric takes time to fully release the name or resource lock.
    • Even though it's been a day, the deletion process might still be pending or incomplete.
  1. Permissions Issue:
    • Make sure the user attempting to recreate the warehouse has the correct permissions for the workspace and environment.
  1. Region or Capacity Conflicts:
    • If your workspace is tied to a specific capacity or region, conflicts could arise when recreating the same-named warehouse in a different scope.

 What You Can Try:

  • Try a different name (e.g., DW-Bronze-v2) to confirm it's a name conflict.
  • Check the Admin Portal (Fabric or Power BI service admin center) for any resources pending deletion or cleanup.
  • Contact your Tenant Admin

Check for residual items in the workspace

  • Go to the Fabric workspace where DW-Bronze existed.
  • Look for and delete any items named DW-Bronze, especially:
    • Semantic models
    • SQL analytics endpoints
    • Datasets
    • Reports or dataflows
