Egress cost for Lakehouse/Data Warehouse

Hello experts, I am thinking about how the egress cost would work when someone connect lakehouse or data warehouse to SSMS and query the data from local machine. Would there be any egress cost associated to it? Please share some scenarios where egress cost can incur and where it won't. thanks!

As I understand it, the main costs incurred when connecting to Power BI Fabric Warehouse or Lakehouse using SQL Server Management Studio are bandwidth and licences, and there are no additional egress costs. At this point the egress cost is reflected in the process of connecting the data source to Fabric rather than the SSMS to Fabric Warehouse
