Copilot in Data Warehouse
- Anonymous2 years ago
Hi DavidPi ,
Copilot in Fabric is currently in public preview and uses Fabric Capacity.
The error message indicates that your organization is not allowed to use Copilot in this workspace due to geolocation restrictions, is this condition met?
If so, this may be due to the preview state of the feature, and these limitations and errors should be resolved prior to full release.

Hi DavidPi ,
Please check these prerequisites:
- Your administrator needs to enable the tenant switch before you start using Copilot. For more information, see Copilot tenant settings.
- Your F64 or P1 capacity needs to be in one of the regions listed in this article, Fabric region availability.
- If your tenant or capacity is outside the US or France, Copilot is disabled by default unless your Fabric tenant admin enables the Data sent to Azure OpenAI can be processed outside your tenant's geographic region, compliance boundary, or national cloud instance tenant setting in the Fabric Admin portal.
- Copilot in Microsoft Fabric isn't supported on trial SKUs. Only paid SKUs (F64 or higher, or P1 or higher) are supported.
If you find that you meet these prerequisites, then you will be able to use Copilot in Power BI, but you will not be able to use Copilot in warehouse. The reason for this should be because "The Copilot in Fabric experiences for Data Factory, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Warehouse, and Real-Time Intelligence are in preview. Data Science, Data Warehouse, and Real-Time Intelligence are in preview."

As previously mentioned, we can utilize and view Copilot for Power BI, prerequisites are met. However, I am unclear about your statement, "...but you will not be able to use Copilot in warehouse."
Is this because Copilot in warehouse is currently in private preview?
Or is it due to the fact that it is in public preview and Copilot does not function with Premium Capacity, only with Fabric Capacity? Other Copilot features are also in preview, and while I can access them, they display errors, which is understandable given their preview status. However, the error messages are quite peculiar—for instance, the one we encounter with Dataflow.
In the same workspace we can use Power BI Copilot.....

Is this resolved on your end? The people replying to you are most likely bots as they CLEARLY fail to read your replies. You clearly stated it's working in Power BI but not in the Warehouse; this is your question, how is this possible? I am experiencing the same issue.
--I am an admin and OpenAI is enabled in my tenant
--my tenant is in a supported Region, using an F 64 in a supported region
--CoPilot works in PBI but is not visible in Warehouse; AI Services also work.- DavidPi1 year agoAdvocate II
Hi,
The issue has not been resolved yet. I encountered a similar problem with Notebooks Copilot, which started working after 2-3 months.
My assumption was that the reason could be related to the preview stage of DWH Copilot or that we have P capacity instead of F capacity. However, since you have F capacity, it seems there may be another underlying issue.
It might be time to consider raising a support ticket for further assistance.
