Hi,
Me and a group of veterans do analytics reports and dashboards for organizations that serve veterans and military families in some way. We connected with the HunterSeven Foundation and had a data challenge to see if we could get folks to submit visualizations of a nurse survey data. Everyone else is likely doing their work in Tableau, but I decided to use Power BI.
The Survey
HunterSeven provided survey data for 537 nurses from all over the country. They work in the private sector and were asked questions about their background and information about the military and veteran community. The main thing we found as a group was that a lot of the nurses were confident they could provide care, but potentially lacked education on veteran-related issues. Here is a link to a comprehensive Tableau dashboard that visualizes and summarizes all of the data.
My Take
I did most of the prep work for the Tableau dashboard using Power Query in Excel and it made it easy for sure. After seeing my friend's dashboard, I wanted to drill down on Question 10, but using something I am now a little more familiar with: Power BI.
I wanted to drill down and really just look at Question 10, because I feel like that was a crucial set of questions. Using a Likert scale, respondents were rating their familiarity of topics pertaining to veteran's care from 1 (least) to 5 (most). I thought it was interesting to see that military culture and information about available resources had such variance.
What Do You Think?
It's pretty basic, but I think the report gets the point across. I would be interested to hear any feedback. If anyone wants to take a crack at a different spin on the data, here is a link to the GitHub.
Thanks,
-Chris
