I am unable to use a particular connection in copy activities. I am also not allowed to save changes to pipelines using this connection or invoke the pipeline from another pipeline.
I have the same access level as the rest of my team:
1. Access to the on-prem gateway
2. Access to the connection
When creating a new Copy activity, I am unable to find the connection in the list of sources (the rest of my team gets this connection in the dropdown)
Instead when I try to connect by using the copy assistant, I start by choosing the right source type (azure SQL database), insert the server and database-name. The existing connection then gets chosen automagically:
I then press "Next". The screen loads for a couple seconds
Then nothing happens.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem?
Hi @hmj ,
I noticed in the fourth screenshot you provided that Basic is selected in the Authentication kind.
Based on my testing, when you select Azure SQL database, the Connection credentials popup will ask you to fill in Username and Password.
So I think you can either test again or check this official documentation below:

Thanks for the reply.
This doesnt happen for me when I start by entering a Server And Database combination that already has a connection. If i instead enter a new Server/Database combination, then I too are prompted to enter Username/Password.
Hi @hmj,
It is really strange that you alone are facing this problem out of your team. I have few questions:
1. From when did you see this problem?
2. Other users in your team have the same level of permission for the connection?
3. Was the connection was recently shared to you?
One suggestion would be to ask the admin of the connection to remove you from the connection user and then add you again, to see if there is a refresh of the authentication.
Hello. Thanks for the reply.
We recently started using the Fabric platform (December) and I think I was one of the first persons to be given this permission. The problem was present the same day we configured the connection/gateway.
The rest of my team has the same permissions as me for the connection.
It might also be important to note that there has been some days (seeminly at random) where I have been able to use this connection, a couple of weeks ago.
I will ask the administrator try to remove, and re-add my permission for the connection. However, I think this has already been tried.
Hi @hmj,
It worked few days ago but not now. That's weird. Did you change your password anytime between that?
Yeah, that is very weird. I feel like the short period it worked was an exception. I did not change my password in that period.
