I have a connection created against a SQL Server on-prem through a data gateway. I can ingest tables normally but when ingesting data from a stored procedure it keeps loading and I never get a response from SQL Server.
I have checked the configuration of SQL Server itself, and I see that when I receive a request from Fabric, the call to the stored procedure never ends. However, if I launch the exact same stored procedure call from outside Fabric with the same user Fabric is using, it finishes in less than 10 seconds. The execution plan that is launched in the SQL is the same whether the call is made from Fabric or outside. I only get this issue with Fabric.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi @amaaiia
Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.
To ensure optimal performance, it would be beneficial to confirm the version of your on-premises data gateway?
If you are using an older version, upgrading to the latest release might improve the data ingestion process.
For latest version of on-prem gateway please refer : On-premises data gateway
If the issue still persists, please do let us know. Glad to help.
I hope this information helps.
Thank you.
It's not data gateway issue. The query gets to SQL Server but the server is not responding. That is, the query request arrives to the server, and the server is not creating and sending an answer. The problem is not in the communication between Fabric and del SQL Server, it's in the SQL Server only when Fabric is the requester.
The point is that this only happens when I run a query from Fabric, in other cases de stored procedure works well.
By the way, gateway version is 3000.218.9
