Notification from Webhook activity to Google Chat

Hi.

I would like to be notified if the data pipeline has succeeded or failed for the Google Chat webhook.

However, the following error occurs and it does not work.

Activity failed because error occurred while processing the request: {
  "error": {
    "code": 400,
    "message": "Invalid JSON payload received. Unknown name \"callBackUri\" at 'message': Cannot find field.",
    "status": "INVALID_ARGUMENT",
    "details": [
      {
        "@type": "type.googleapis.com/google.rpc.BadRequest",
        "fieldViolations": [
          {
            "field": "message",
            "description": "Invalid JSON payload received. Unknown name \"callBackUri\" at 'message': Cannot find field."
          }
        ]
      }
    ]
  }
}

The URL is taken from Google Chat, and the other settings are as follows
The error did not change whether the header was set or not.

Method:  POST

Body:  @json('{"text":"Notify From Microsoft Fabric!"}')

Can anyone give me some tips on how to solve this problem?

Thanks

This is similar to what I asked ChatGpt, but I think I can tell if the Body you pointed out does not contain callBackUri as you indicated in your question.

After posting this question, I was checking the official reference and was able to guess that the callBackUri property is automatically added to the Body to control the Timeout.

I am currently looking for a solution and will post the results for the benefit of developers trying to solve similar problems.

After contacting Microsoft support, there was no way to avoid the automatic assignment of properties, so we decided to implement a Python notification process in Notebook.

Hi @aki_h ,

It looks like the error you're encountering is due to an invalid JSON payload being sent to the Google Chat webhook. Specifically, the error message indicates that the field callBackUri is not recognized.

So I think you can take the following steps:

1. Ensure that your JSON payload matches the expected structure for Google Chat webhooks. The payload should be a simple JSON object with a text field. For example:

{
"text": "Notify From Microsoft Fabric!"
}

2. Make sure there are no extra fields in your JSON payload that Google Chat does not recognize. The error message suggests that callBackUri is not a valid field.

3. Double-check the Google Chat API documentation to ensure you are using the correct fields and format.

Best Regards

Yilong Zhou
