Failed to Link Azure Blob Storage system events to Fabric events

Hi team ,

I have a requirement as described below.

There is a pipeline that should be triggered when  a file is added  in ADLS Container.

However, I am facing this issue.

Can someone help me with this?

Hi @jayyqp124_3q
Sorry for the late response.

If you're facing an issue where linking Azure Blob Storage system events to a Fabric Eventstream fails—especially when the first two setup steps succeed but the final linking step shows a generic error—here are a few things that may help:

  1. Double-check permissions
Make sure the identity being used has the right roles assigned. Specifically, it should have the Storage Blob Data Owner role on the storage account and Contributor access to the Fabric workspace.

  2. Review Event Grid configuration
Go to your storage account in the Azure portal, then open the Events section. Check that Event Grid is active and set up correctly. If there are any failed or inactive event subscriptions, try deleting and recreating them.

  3. Check for region mismatches
Ensure both your Azure Blob Storage and the Fabric workspace are in the same Azure region. Linking across regions isn’t currently supported and could be the reason the setup fails.

  4. Reset the setup process
Try deleting the existing (failed) Eventstream connection and go through the setup again from scratch. This can sometimes help resolve any stuck configurations or background errors.

If the above information helps you, please give us a Kudos and marked the Accept as a solution.

Hi @jayyqp124_3q

Sometimes, transient errors can occur. Try creating the Event Subscription again to see if the issue persists.

Even though an Event Grid System Topic is automatically created for your storage account, you can still need to create an Event Subscription to define what events should trigger your pipeline and where notifications should be sent. This subscription specifies the specific events (e.g., Blob Created) and the endpoint for receiving notifications.

Please refer the below link to create the event subscription:

Hi @jayyqp124_3q

Welcome to the Microsoft Fabric Community forum!

Below are the troubleshooting points:

1. Ensure that your Azure Blob storage account is properly configured and active. Verify that you have the necessary permissions to access the storage account.
2. Check that the event subscriptions are set up correctly. Make sure that the topic type is set to Microsoft.Storage.StorageAccounts and the storage account name is correct.
3. The error message mentions aguasandinasstorage and EventLinks. make sure that these are the correct names for your resources and that they are spelled correctly in the configuration.

Note: Enrure the below points as attached below.

Hi @ CSrikanth_21,

Thank you for your help, but I am still facing the same issue and the error message is:"There was an error in the process. Please try again later". I am getting this same error repeatedly....

  • My storage account is properly configured.
  • I have EventGrid Contributor and EventGrid Event Subscription Contributor roles.
  • The EventGrid System Topic is automatically created for the storage account with Source Type Microsoft.Storage.StorageAccounts.

Should I create a Event Subscription as well? .If yes can you guide me with that .

Thank you
