So, i have a data pipeline with a web action. It hits some Azure REST API's and pulls billing information, which works perfectly. In Azure i have a Service Principle that has been given the appropriate roles. I can manually input the connection details like "Tenant ID", "Service Principal Client ID" and "Service Principal Key/Secret". But, i need to pass in dynamic values from an array i build earlier on. It seems there is no way to add dynamic values to a connection on the web action. Is there another method i can potentially use to do this?
Nevermind, i created a HTTP triggered Power Automate flow that takes in parameters, builds up the URL and authentication dynamically and then returns the response to the data pipeline. Would have loved for the native web action to have the ability to use dynamic values for its connection strings but hey, i'll wait and see.
Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.
Fabric data pipelines currently lack the functionality to directly add dynamic values to connections within web actions.
Currently parameterization support for connection is not present in Fabric Data Factory.
But we can expect them in upcoming release. You can refer this link to check what's new planned for Fabric.
