Hello all,
I found the following Dynamics 365 connector in the Copy Data Assistant. The one three up from the bottom right corner. I cannot find documentation regarding this connector anywhere. Does anyone know if it was added recently? Is it a misnamed connector for D365 BC or CRM?
I need to know, because I would like to utilize it to connect to our D365 F&O environment if possible to make copying data over easy. I know about the Link to Fabric with Dataverse but our client is extrmely sensitive to the price impact of utilizing Dataverse storage, so we are exploring all options here.
Thanks
Hi @Anonymous
According to the official documents:
Effective May 5, 2020 the Dynamics 365 connector used for data integrations, flows, Azure Logic Apps, and canvas apps is officially deprecated. We recommend that you don't create new connections using this connector.

You must replace usage of the Dynamics 365 connector with the Microsoft Dataverse connector.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/important-changes-coming#action-required-by-you-5
You mentioned user concerns about storage consumption. Link to fabric consumes additional Dataverse storage, while Azure Synapse Link uses your own storage along with other compute and integration tools.

Hi @Anonymous,
I'm a little confused, because the official documentation you mentioned regarding the deprecation of the Dynamics 365 connector is for Power Apps and Power Automate, not for Fabric Data Factory? So this documentation should not be relevant for the Dynamics 365 connector in Fabric Data Factory?
Why is the Dynamics 365 connector included in a new service like Fabric data pipeline, if the connector was deprecated back in 2020?
I also don't find any documentation for this connector in Fabric Data Factory.
A Dynamics 365 connector is listed in the docs for Azure Data Factory, though:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/data-factory/connector-overview
This documentation says: "To copy data from Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, you can use the Dynamics AX connector."
(Please note that this is the ADF documentation).
Hi @frithjof_v
According to the official documentation, neither dataflow gen2 nor the connectors supported in the data pipeline include Dynamics 365.

Thanks @Anonymous ,
I still find it strange that there is no documentation for the connector, because the connector is available in the user interface in Fabric Data Pipeline.
