Hi Team,
We are able to access the On-prem SQL server hosted on Azure VM using Data Factory dataflow.
This it could connect post creating a gateway and using that gateway in Factory experience.
If the same we need to do via Python notebooks, how should we use that gateway option in our connection string? Please help

Hi @Jothy ,
Currently, Fabric Notebook do not support direct connections to local databases through the Power BI Gateway. Fabric Spark does not integrate with the Power BI Gateway.
There are two alternatives:
First, you can create shortcut to the external data in Fabric Lakehouse. This way, you can query the data using notebooks.
For more information about shortcut, please see:
Create a OneLake shortcut - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn
Second, you can use data pipeline to copy data to the lakehouse instead of using notebook.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

Hello,
I too have the requirement to connect to Azure SQL database from Fabric notebook. Hoping the landscape would have changed, is it possible to connect to Azure SQL database from Fabric notebook at this point of time?
Please note that, I have a requirement specifically to connect to Azure SQL database only from Fabric notebook.
Thanks in advance!
