Fabric now allows creating shortcuts on SQL DB tables that can be accessed directly from Lakehouses.
I also tested the reverse direction and found the following limitations:
You cannot create shortcuts on Lakehouse items within SQL DB.
You cannot create shortcuts on SQL DB views. Currently, only tables are supported.
This is a helpful step toward better integration between SQL and Lakehouse environments. I'm looking forward to future enhancements.
