Lakehouse Schema Shortcuts - Views

I have successfully created a shortcut between two schema enabeld Lakehouse, we will call Primary and Secondary.

Sceondary is shortcutting to Primary's schema, and the tables are surfacing wonderfully. However, I have about 6 views created in Primary, and when I go into Secondary's SQL endpoint, none are present.

Has anyone been able to pass views over as well, or just recreate them? This would be a super helpful enhancement if it isn't already on the road map.

  • Hi ehmacc

I think this is the expected behaviour, the shortcuts link to Delta tables in the Tables folder of the lakehouse, and views aren't delta tables, so they aren't included in the shortcuts.

Views are stored as metadata in the metastore, https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-engineering/lakehouse-schemas

I recommend submitting this as an idea: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Fabric-Ideas/idb-p/fbc_ideas

This way the product team will know people are wanting it.
