I created a lakehouse. A default semantic model is associated with it, along with the SQL analyitics endpoint in the GUI.
Looking at the Fabric Capacity Metrics app, it shows that this model, which is not necessary, is using CUs. therefore I want to get rid of it.
Does anyone know how to delete this default semantic model?

Hi @Element115
Thanks for using Microsoft Fabric Community.
Currently, deleting the default semantic model directly is not possible in Microsoft Fabric. While deletion is not possible, you can disable the automatic synchronization of the default model with Power BI. This prevents the model from being updated in the background, saving on resource usage (CUs).
For more details please refer : Sync the default Power BI semantic model.
I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks.
@Element115 I created this idea to remove the default semantic model, please vote if you like the idea:

Thanks for posting this. I don't like the default semantic model either. We never use it. We create a new one everytime from the lakehouse. I wish they would remove the L shape grouping with the default semantic model and SQL Analytics endpoint. It takes up too much real-estate and dirties up an otherwise beautiful organization of items. There are other ways to get to the SQL analytics endpoint. I say get rid of the L shape grouping and access the SQL analytics endpoint another through the ... more options and/or within the lakehouse itself. They have the toggle dropdown in the upper right corner.
