Editing an existing shortcut

Hello everyone,

I created a shortcut on Dataverse (via a LakeHouse) last week for a few tables. Now I want to add a few more tables.

Is there a way to edit the existing shortcut to add these tables?

I have the impression that I need to do Get Data again, select the same connection and add the tables.

Thanks in advance for your return,

Vivien

Hi @vivien57

Sorry I missed that. You are on the right track. To add additional tables from Dataverse, you need to do Get data again to create new shortcuts for those tables. It doesn't allow editing an existing shortcut. If you don't want an existing shortcut, you can just delete it.

Best Regards,
Jing

Hi @vivien57

You could follow up the steps listed in Manage link to Fabric section of the following document. View the status of tables by selecting Manage tables. Select additional tables. Then use the Refresh Fabric tables option to add the newly enabled table in Fabric.

Hope this would be helpful.

Hello,

Thanks for your feedback.

Yes, it works if you create the link from the Dataverse.

However, it is also possible to create the link from Fabric, as follows (in the existing LakeHouse):

Once the link has been made for the tables I need, I see the tables and data in my Lakehouse, but I can't find a way of editing the list of tables for which I want to make the link.

Thank you in advance for your return,

Vivien

Thank you for your feedback.

what is the best thing to do? Create a shortcut from Dataverse or Fabric Lakehouse?

Hi @vivien57

I would recommend creating shortcuts from Fabric Lakehouse if you only need some specific tables of Dataverse.

At present, if you use Link to Microsoft Fabric feature from Power Apps, it selects all tables by default. You cannot deselect the tables you don't want. Some users don't like this. However this is by design now. (Based on my test, not all tables were selected. But only a few tables were not selected. I cannot deselect the tables selected by default.) So I don't recommend this approach personally.
