Beginning October 1, 2025, Power BI datamarts will not be supported and datamarts will be cleaned up from workspaces. To avoid losing your data and breaking reports built on top of datamarts, migrate your datamart to warehouse. To upgrade existing datamarts to Fabric Data Warehouse, follow the steps in this guide.
--> If we store the datamarts in SQL Database, it would be cleaned up too? why do we need to migrate to warehouse? Is warehouse more expensive than the SQL Database? Isn't it make sense to have different datamarts for different departments? than dump everything from different departments into a single data warehouse?

Pricing for Fabric Data Warehouse is similar to Power BI Premium P1 Capacity.
Power BI Premium P1 Capacity = Fabric Data Warehouse F64 Capacity = Fabric Lakehouse F64 Capacity = Direct Lake Semantic Model F64 Capacity.
so like wise it is cheaper and affordable than only using Power BI Premium P1 node.
