Azure Synapse Pool help needed

Hello!

Recently my test warehouse has been running VERY slow (2 times slower than usual) in only one query which has alot of joins etc, it's a stored procedure that takes data from silver to staging.

It started happening after a deploy to test and I´ve since then:

1. Reversed to an old patch where it used to work smoothly (still same issue)

2. Changed performance to match PROD (prod works fine), and still same amount of waiting!

3. Same amount of data in prod and test so it´s not the data amount that makes it slow.

Even with changing back to old patch where it used to work and the code changing back, it´s still the same issue. Any suggestions on what I can look at or what I can do is HIGHELY appreciated!!!

It´s taking alot of time on ShuffleMove operation, changing performance did not work though?

using ssms 19 btw

best regards

joe

Hi @joeshmo  ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

1) Try reducing query result set size to help you avoid client-side issues caused by large query results.
2) Consider using query insights to find out top CPU consuming queries by CPU time and maybe you can optimize the query

3) Follow the below document to actually check weather query performance seems to degrade over time
