making a new custom column based on filters and If statement

Trying to filter something out, but not working as i want yet.

i have a column that has milestones or task with an associate date, and status.

I am trying to build another column where 

Filter to only the cell that says milestone.

if it says closed, closed.

else if, today() <=30 "due soon"

if  it will say ontrack,

got the bulk of it working, but the filter is not. End result is to do a countrow on a table to show many many milestones are due soon vs on track. 

Overdue soon = /*FILTER(EPMT_Milestones,[Milestone_Task]= "Milestone")*/
if(EPMT_Milestones[Status] = "Closed","Closed", if(EPMT_Milestones[Current_Scheduled_End_Date]-TODAY()<=30,"overdue soon","On Track"))
