Hi,
I have a separate dates column and another table where I have members with a start and enddate. I have to find a way to check if in the members table the date falls between start and enddate to see if it is between, then yes , otherwise no, as I need to show in the report only the members that are yes. Both tables are not connected. I need to create a calculated column with yes or no as I tried it as a a measure but because of the amount of data it wont filter the report as there is not enough memory. How can I create that calculated column in the member table? Would i need to connect both tables?
1 table Calendar Date
1/1/2020
2/1/2020
etc
2 table members
memberid startdate enddate yes/no?
342 1/2/2020 2/2/2020
234 1/2/2020 3/2/2020
234 1/2/2020 4/2/2020
Calculated columns are not dynamic, they're STATIC - they're calculated when you refresh the model and stay put until the next refresh. That's one thing. Secondly, which date out of the many dates you have in the Dates table would you like to use to perform this calculation in each row? This value can't be taken from a slicer since... calculated columns are STATIC.
