addcolumns

Hello

I am using addcolumns, so when i added a new column with a measure, its not taking filter context

what i did first i created a table of customers using intersect & summarize, then from sales table (which is my fact table), i took the measure that i created for total sales (i called it customer sales),

where customersales= SUM('Sales by Store'[Total Revenue])

what i want is to use addcolumns for my new customer table to add customer sales , so when am adding the measure of customer sales its giving wrong sum not taking into account filter, as i know if i have a measure it should take filter context

please advise why its behaving like that

note: this is just a trial , am trying to understand dax more , & addcolumns

Hi,

I am not sure how your data model looks like, but please try the below DAX formula to create a new table.

Week45 returning customers table =
CALCULATETABLE (
    ADDCOLUMNS (
        VALUES ( 'week45 customers'[Customer ID] ),
        "rev", [customer sales]
    ),
    TREATAS (
        SUMMARIZE (
            INTERSECT ( 'week45 customers', 'week45 customers' ),
            'week45 customers'[Customer ID]
        ),
        'week45 customers'[Customer ID]
    )
)

hi Thanks

But my concern is why its giving same value, as am putting in addcolumns measure, when there is measure there should be filter context to my understanding

I modified the tables slightly, but still its not working , is there a way that i can share my pbix file?

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

- Is my measure providing a correct result as you expected?

- You can share your onedrive's link or dropbox link or google drive link here in order to share your pbix file.

Thank you.
