Power BI Dashboard Ideas

Hi,

Kindly suggest me an idea to create a summary dashboard for a shipment company.

Profit Table: Customer Name, date, revenue, Cost,  Segments (Air, Sea and Road) and

Objectives:

1. When you select one customer using a slicer, we need to show which segment that particular customer making more profit (Segment comparison)

2. Comparison between Customers (Top 10)

Please suggest more KPI

Thanks in advance

Creating a Power BI dashboard for a shipment company involves visualizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing insights into various aspects of the business. Based on your objectives, here are some ideas for KPIs and visualizations for your dashboard:

  1. Profit Table:

    • Columns: Customer Name, Date, Revenue, Cost, Segments (Air, Sea, Road)
    • Visualizations: Table visual for detailed data.
  2. Segment Comparison for a Selected Customer:

    • Visualization: Stacked bar chart or donut chart showing the contribution of each segment (Air, Sea, Road) to the profit when a specific customer is selected using a slicer.
  3. Customer Profitability Comparison:

    • Visualization: Bar chart or table showing the top 10 customers based on profit. You can use a stacked bar chart to show the contribution of each segment to the total profit for these top customers.
  4. Revenue vs. Cost Trend Over Time:

    • Visualization: Line chart showing the trend of revenue and cost over time. This can help identify patterns and seasonality.
  5. Segment-wise Revenue and Cost Distribution:

    • Visualization: Stacked area chart or stacked bar chart showing the distribution of revenue and cost across different segments over time.
  6. Profit Margin Analysis:

    • Visualization: Line chart or area chart displaying the profit margin percentage over time. This can provide insights into the overall profitability of the business.
  7. Geographical Analysis:

    • Visualization: Map visual showing the distribution of revenue or profit across different regions or countries. This can help identify lucrative markets.
  8. On-Time Delivery Performance:

    • Visualization: Gauge chart or KPI indicator showing the percentage of on-time deliveries. You can include a trend line to monitor performance over time.
  9. Customer Satisfaction Ratings:

    • Visualization: Donut chart or gauge chart displaying customer satisfaction ratings. Integrating customer feedback data can provide a holistic view of business performance.
  10. Cost Breakdown by Category:

    • Visualization: Treemap or stacked bar chart illustrating the breakdown of costs into categories such as fuel, labor, maintenance, etc.

Remember to use slicers, filters, and drill-through functionalities effectively to allow users to interact with the dashboard and gain deeper insights. Additionally, you may consider incorporating a summary or key metrics card to highlight the most critical information at a glance.
