I come from a long history of working with MDX and SSAS multidimensional and have fully transferred to PBI and DAX this year. I have a challenge in that I have a 7-level ragged hierarchy supporting the PnL. I would like to create a calculated member to calculate Gross Margin that would live within one of these levels. I can't build it out in the hierarchy itself because it conflicts with the Gross Profit calculation so needs to live outside of the natural hierarchy but I still want it displayed within it. I was able to do this with SSAS by having a calculated member that was assigned to a level in the hierarchy. Is there a way to do this in PBI or DAX? We're using Zebra BI to support the PnL but it won't let me create a custom formula that crosses different levels in the hierarchy. Thanks for any help that you can provide!
