Idea to sum up YTD numbers.

Hello,

I have MTD values, with long switch measures created with lot of comparators in slicers,(eg, vs PY, vs PY-1 etc). I need to now create YTD and total of the YTD because of the data issue.

Any tricks to do with out creating too many formulas connecting all these.

Thanks in advance

@ValtteriN Thanks for the idea, but I need to sum up those YTD numbers again for the total for the heirarchy also we are treating YTD number as MTD number here, this should be only reflecting in only on matrix visual.

Hi,

I recommend creating a calculation groups for basic time intelligence measures. Have a look at this article by SQLBI: Calculation Groups - SQLBI

For your case YTD would be like this:

CALCULATE(SELECTEDMEASURE(), DATESYTD('Calendar'[date]))

I hope this post helps to solve your issue and if it does consider accepting it as a solution and giving the post a thumbs up!
